Centro Restaurant and Lounge has been defined as “A Return to Grand Hotel Dining,” “Not afraid of excess,” and as “The Restaurant in the Omni, not a “hotel restaurant.””  Our seasonal, fresh Italian Inspired Cuisine, Extensive Wine List and Bar Menu are only the beginning.

We are focused on bringing our patrons an amazing experience, whether it is in our lounge, dining room or at a function in our private dining room.  You will find our staff professional, personable and exceeding your expectations. Conveniently located in the Omni Hotel in Providence on the 2nd floor, Centro offers 3 hours free parking in the Convention Center parking garage during dinner hours, as well as valet parking for your convenience. Centro is open every day for breakfast from 6:30am until 11:30am, lunch from 11:30am until 2:30pm, full lunch menu in the bar and lounge from 2:30pm to 5pm, and dinner from 5pm until 11pm. Join us in our relaxing lounge anytime between 11am and 1am for a glass of wine, specialty drinks or for a snack.

Willis Stepp

I was born and raised in coastal CT. I pursued a Marine Vertebrate Zoology in Southampton Long Island University, but decided to take a prep job in a small restaurant while I was waiting for my externship. This is where I knew that cooking was going to be my career. Soon I made my way to Mohegan Sun where I was introduced to the best food I had ever seen. It was an education to say the least. In the pursuit of learning I applied to Tuscany by Todd English. Here I really honed my skills and the respect it took to work in a truly dominating kitchen.

After the casino, I took a job with the Max Restaurant Group… a prestigious long lasting staple of the CT restaurant scene. Here at Trumbull Kitchen I was surrounded by a no holds barred way of cooking. Food from every part of the globe was showcased. It built a solid foundation in which I moved to Providence to open Public Kitchen & Bar. My global background in cooking helped me create a truly modern American menu at Public Kitchen & Bar.

Rooting myself deeply in the local RI food scene I ate at every restaurant that was worth going to in one month. With that knowledge I showcased the exceptional local products into an interesting eclectic menu. Now I found my way into Centro Restaurant & Lounge with the knowledge of the RI customer base. Here we are focused on classic food and excellent ingredients. We utilize many techniques which allow us to focus on from scratch cooking. I am looking forward to practice familiar dishes with exceptional quality for everybody at Centro Restaurant & Lounge.
